Beach Ban Break On Styrofoam Coolers

Beach Ban Break On Styrofoam Coolers
Posted July 4th, 2014 @ 6:11pm

Miami Beach officials are trying to spare unsuspecting beach-goers a 500 dollar fine.

Today and Saturday they're exchanging a free new, reusable cooler for beach-goers foam coolerS instead of writing tickets.

The city banned Styrofoam, glass and metal cans on its beaches in 2012 to reduce litter.

Later this month, commissioners will vote on extending the plastic foam ban to public facilities, parks and sidewalk cafes.
